Noranda Exploration, Inc.
1988 - 1999 District Geologist,
Tucson, AZ 1997 - 1999 Managed Tucson exploration office and Noranda’s western U.S. exploration. Budgets increased yearly to a maximum of $1,800,000. Exploration program resulted in the discovery of a covered porphyry copper system. Advancements in and application of new computer (GIS), geochemical and geophysical technologies facilitated capability and productivity gains. Program was recognized as a leader in the application of new technologies, and in its level of knowledge of porphyry copper deposits. Supported international exploration.Senior International Geologist, Tucson, AZ 1998 - 1999 Problem solved in Noranda’s exploration offices in Brazil and Peru. Work in Peru focused on developing a Geographic Information System (GIS) database, integrating the GIS with GPS technology, and implementing an exploration program for 1999. Noranda’s top project in South America was acquired, and the 1999 Peru exploration budget of $2,800,000 was the largest in South America as well as the largest the Peru office had received since opening in 1994.Senior Project Geologist, Denver, CO 1993 - 1995 Developed and implemented a southwestern U.S. exploration program for porphyry copper deposits. Compiled and designed a Geographical Information System (GIS) for the southwestern U.S. and also for the southwest Pacific countries. Budgets were increased from $200,000 in 1993 to $800,000 in 1996. Support for the program resulted in opening a Noranda office in Tucson, Arizona. Supported international exploration in Mexico, Peru, and the South Pacific.Project Geologist, Denver, CO 1988 - 1993 Responsible for generating and managing various exploration projects throughout much of the western U.S. Individual project budgets up to $1,000,000 per year were managed. Commodities of interest included Au, Cu, Pb, and Zn. Priority deposit types included porphyry Au, porphyry Mo, skarn Au, volcanogenic massive sulfide, and sedimentary exhalitive.Other Accomplishments:
